Cromarty Wind Turbine Development

Bright Spark Energy Ltd is pursuing a 4.0 MW development on the Black Isle, Ross-shire, in Highland. The project will use 5 Enercon E-48 800 kW wind turbines which will have a tip height of 73.7m and stand on exposed ground at around 140m of altitude. The planning application for full permission was submitted on Monday 30th April.

Community Benefit

The Cromarty Wind Turbine Development will pay a minimum of £5,000 per annum per megawatt installed in Community Benefit. Based on the configuration applied for this represents a minimum payment of £20,000 per annum. The Community Benefit was negotiated between Bright Spark Energy and Cromarty Community Council who enlisted the assistance of Highland Council in conducting the negotiation.
